Learn about the heart behind MOVERSph — the people, purpose, and passion that fuel our commitment to building a just, empowered, and resilient Philippines through youth-led action, volunteerism, and innovation.

We believe that sustainable change begins when every voice is heard and every sector is represented. This value reflects your commitment to inclusive volunteerism, multisectoral engagement, and empowering underserved communities.

We embrace creativity and digital tools to solve local challenges and build forward-thinking, people-centered solutions. Aligned with your focus on social entrepreneurship, digital organizing, and civic innovation.

We invest in the potential of individuals—especially the youth—as servant leaders, mentors, and changemakers. This connects with your capacity-building programs, mentorship efforts, and leadership development work.

We champion disaster preparedness, local action, and community solidarity as the foundation of a stronger, more just nation. Anchored in your DRRM focus, livelihood support, and grassroots organizing.
In 2022, in the humble municipality of Banga, Aklan, a small group of passionate young individuals dared to dream of something bigger than themselves. They called it the Banga Young Volunteers Association (BYVA) — a community-rooted initiative born out of hope, unity, and a deep desire to serve. Though their initial attempt at municipal accreditation was unsuccessful, the vision behind BYVA only grew stronger.
Rejection did not mean the end. It meant redirection.
From BYVA rose a broader vision — one that would encompass the youth not only of one town, but of an entire province. The group reformed and rebranded into the Aklan Young Volunteers Association (AYVA) and soon gained formal recognition through accreditation from the Provincial Youth Development Office. What started as a grassroots effort now stood on solid ground, empowered and encouraged by official support and growing community impact.
As AYVA, the movement organized clean-up drives, relief operations, youth empowerment campaigns, leadership workshops, and other projects that addressed real needs in local communities. But even with its growing accomplishments, the heart of the organization knew it wasn’t meant to stay provincial.
To scale its reach and deepen its mission, AYVA transformed into FGA Aklan — an identity that embodied its core values: Faith, Growth, and Action. It became a symbol of evolution — rooted in the same founding spirit, but equipped for larger platforms and greater responsibility. The name AYVA remained its legal identity, but FGA Aklan became its voice to the world.
Now, in response to a fast-changing society and a burning desire to create nationwide — even global — ripples of change, we have taken our boldest step yet.
We are now MOVERS — the Movement for Opportunities, Volunteerism, and Empowerment Towards Resilient Societies.
This is more than a name. It’s a declaration of who we are and who we aim to become. We believe in empowering the youth with real opportunities. We champion volunteerism as a way of life. And we strive for inclusive, resilient, and sustainable societies — where no voice is left unheard and no community is left behind.
From our beginnings in a small Aklanon town to the national stage we now step onto, one thing remains constant: our movement is powered by young people — hopeful, passionate, and ready to act.
We are dreamers who do. We are youth in motion. We are MOVERS. And our journey has only just begun.
